Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shankar is an British and American sitarist. She also performs music. She was the first and first woman to receive an award from the British House of Commons Shield she's received nine Grammy Awards nominations and was the first artist of Indian of Indian descent to perform live on stage and also act as a host at the ceremony. Anoushka Shankar is one of India's rising stars in the sitar. She is the student and sister of Ravi Shankar. She was born 1982 in London. Her early years were spent between London in London and New Delhi. Her first performance took place on stage in New Delhi when she was just 13 years old. She then moved into Encinitas CA, where she earned her High School diploma with honors in the year 1999. Anouskha still has a promising performing and recording careers, even though she's young. She performs regularly together with her dad, and has been doing so for a long time years. In 1998 she released her first single album Anourag. The Grammy Award-winning live at Carnegie Hall was released two years after her debut solo album. Alongside performing at all of the largest venues as well, she is a stage performer for a lengthy time. Anoushka isn't just a performer. In 2002, she released a book entitled Bapi The Love of My Live this is an illustrated biography that pays special respect to her dad Ravi Shankar. Also, in films in 2003 she acted in the film Dance Like a Man where she portrays a young Bharat Natyam dancer. Anoushka Shankar's work continues to grow and we're likely to see a variety of things from her in the years to come. Anoushka shankar is an English born singer who travelled her childhood split between London, Delhi and California. When she was nine years old, she started studying music with her father making her performing debut on the sitar 4 years later, at the celebration of his 75th birthday in Delhi. Accompanying her father as he toured the world Anoushka was able to accumulate a variety of performances at Carnegie Hall while still in her teens, performing in Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festival as well as performing with George Harrison. To honor her position as a leading musician of Asian Arts, she was presented with the House of Commons Shield by British parliament.
